To diserning music shoppers, the SOUL JAZZ label is untouchable
when it comes to timeless compilations. Nu Yorica, Studio One, the Jamaican
sonic stratum and New Orleans Funk have all been flipped under their
dust-grouted fingers. We're lucky to hear the results. But after such a track
record, they're bound to stumble, right? Wrong. SOUL JAZZ RECORDS
re-discovers Reggae Disco. The most funked-out late disco
tracks ["Rapper's Delight", "I'm Every Woman", "Don't Stop 'Til You
Get Enough"] re-created by that era's Lovers Rock and Rare
Groove superstars. Come and watch as our speakers melt to the floor. As our
guest DJ Tim Haslett would say, Reggae Disco is "off the cross." DJ UFO
will dissect the decks like they were Argentinian cattle.
