Media, Musicians, Listeners:
It's people like Trevor Jackson who keep us interested
in music and the music business. A passionate devotee of musics lost
history, Mr. Jackson poses as the PLAYGROUP with various
biting vocal talents [Kathleen Hanna, Kyra, Edwyn Collins]. His label, Output
Recordings, has given us Fridge, 7 Hurtz and Fourtet. Now he lines up a mix
with so much bumped-out bass, my neighbors moved out yesterday and I have just
now been served with a subpeona. Red-line retro-future funk from the likes
of Human League, Nigo, the Rapture, Material, Parallax Corporation and Smith 'N
Hack.
ATTN: Everyone who comes by tonight will recieve a free
13-song sampler from Studio
Distribution featuring Psycho On Da Bus, DJ Jazzy Jeff, Swayzak, Terranova
and more. Cool Playgroup posters, too.
And with DJs Patrick Bryant [WMBR] and the freaky UFO, I'm just flat-out
unsure how you could not come down tonight to
eavesdrop.

++ TONIGHT ++
Trevor Jackson, a/k/a Playgroup is an expert in
party transportation. He's moved parties from Paris to Cairo. Literally.
Here, instead of coming to
your house, he lines up a set to play again and again. We're considering having
attendees tonight sign some sort of waiver. His episode of DJ
KICKS, a quality creative DJ series, just smokes like an 8th-grade goth.
So, in effect, we've got three DJs tonight. And free 13-song samplers for
all.
MIT radio's DJ
Patrick Bryant likes new electronic music and the way it looks. He's also
the music director. UFO's record bag is typically handled with
tongs. Don't look directly at it. I'm warning you. Find his last River
Gods set
here...
hey, Wednesdays are a drag, anyway.
:: 9pm - 10:30pm: Patrick Bryant
[WMBR]
:: 11:30pm - 1am: UFO [Forced Exposure]

Get your fix and listen to it now at
their website. You'll agree with me when I say it's simply a whole 'nother
level for these punks. If the pop music world has been looking the other
way, it's about to get pounced. In fact, I can't think of a band more
poised to mark the launch of the new "resdesigned" Rolling Stone. Put _them_ on
the cover, you clowns. Alas, that won't happen, but at least we have the
friendly confines and free sound-system at River Gods. Playing the Roxy Monday,
Oct. 14th. DJ Jeff
Breeze and Tinobeat will
host the evening, and they've been able to think about this for weeks. Life
is fun.

Tinobeat
