Media, River Gods Regulars, Music Fans and Friends,

In our brave neu world, there is little better club chanteuse than Allison Goldfrapp. With Will Gregory on the keys, Goldfrapp twists and turns to a laser disco ball. Their last album bubbled-up around the world. Baker Brothers this ain't. It's Black Cherry 2003, a thoroughly updated Goldfrapp sound, replete with funkier beats, more attitude and enough humanity to make our steely modernity warm to the touch. Lovely, sensual and eerie pop musick.

Our DJs, Alexandra and George have a penchant for that updated tableau. You know that totally rad cocktail party you've always wanted to have? Goldfrapp can pull it off. We'll give them a go tonight at

eavesdrop.

:: May 6th, 2003 Goldfrapp Black Cherry [Mute]
Already bumping against an essential status in her native England [and around the world], Allison Goldfrapp has evolved from premiere guest vocalist [Tricky's Maxinquaye to Orbital's Snivilization] to outright diva in the last few years. Lately, she's appeared on Top Of The Pops, BBC Radio 1 and her new video has seen heavy rotation on MTVs in five continents [MTV USA, no]. Her debut CD with composer Will Gregory, Felt Mountain, was a word-of-mouth success story. It eventually sold 500,000 worldwide. Now her second CD puts her in the position to go large. The remix from the superpunk T. Raumschmiere sure as hell doesn't hurt. This is hot stuff. With returning DJs Alexandra and our friend, George, who'll be celebrating being done with school. Word.
:: 9pm - 10:30pm :: Alexandra [Melody du Jour]
:: May 6th, 2003 Goldfrapp Black Cherry [Mute]

Check the awesome video at http://www.gaybetamax.co.uk/
