Local Media, River Gods Regulars, Music Fans and Friends,

Walking up and down Massachusetts Avenue, you might have seen a scotched-up flyer or two for local wunderkinds Soltero. This is not a mistake. For years, the Soltero crew has stayed true to their punk ethos: playing just about wherever, touring for no bucks, relying on the word-of-mouth and, yes, sometimes, being quite loud. All this secured them a prime spot at the outre underground festival MacRock. If this digital "revolution" should benefit anyone, it's Soltero. Do your part tonight as these fashionable gentlemen sell CDs and spin their classics free at River Gods.

Moreover, this is a kind of advance peek at the Friday Night Indie series R.G. has in the works. [And oh, in our haste to put together last week's party, we neglected to give a shoutout to Stuff At Night which recently wrote our little party up [here]. Respect.] It is also Amy and David's third [uh, Leather] anniversary tonight.

Lots to celebrate [and don't we need to?]. C'mon, everybody, let's rock tonight at

eavesdrop.

:: March 25th, 2003 Soltero Defrocked And Kicking The Habit [Handsome]
People love Soltero. And it's starting to show. Not only is the band making fans fast [they recently finished a tour], but it's starting to become an institution, sprouting solo shows, encouraging other bands and having, well, nights like these. We've invited the groop down to spin some favorites and they've graciously complied [their occasional record-shop employment won't hurt]. Defrocked And Kicking The Habit is their second full-length, a passionate treatise on life, loss and loosening up. It's rock music and its coming from your neighbors, so buy them a beer.
:: 9pm - 10:30pm :: Tim and gang
:: 10:30 :: Soltero Defrocked And Kicking The Habit [Handsome]
:: 11:30pm - 1am: :: Gang and Tim

:: April 1st, 2003 ADULT. Anxiety Always [Ersatz Audio]
ADULT. is about to blow the doors off of the new electro sound, for the new ADULT. release is punk as hell. ADULT. is composed of only two people: Adam Lee Miller, Ersatz label partner, and Nicola Kuperus, artiste extraordinaire. It is quite clear ADULT. do not care what you think. For example, they have asked all reference to ADULT. be printed as such: ADULT. Now, that, ladies and gentlemen, is punk. The music? Total funk punk mayhem, bomb-the-bass reverso dance, jolt-inducing crankshaft fashionpetrol. Two geniuses take the decks... You comin or what?
:: 9pm - 10:30pm :: COOKIES [WZBC]
:: April 1st, 2003 ADULT. Anxiety Always [Ersatz Audio]
:: 11:30pm - 1am: :: Daddy Long [Appliance Of Science]

TO COME +++
:: April 8th, 2003 Yo La Tengo Summer Sun [Matador]
With guest DJs Tinobeat and Alex McGregor. Yo La Tengo could well be America's finest rock combo. Matador is on a roll.

:: Music Site of the Week :: This is the easiest decision we've ever had to make: PROTEST RECORDS. Thurston Moore, Cat Power, Steven Taylor, Eugene Chadbourne, Ian MacKaye, Saul Williams, Beastie Boys, Billy Bragg [hey, even, Toby Keith and Ted Nugent] and many more have all taken a stand about the war. Time to chime in. Ya heard?
