Local Media, River Gods Regulars, Music Fans and Friends,

Search for tonight's feature on the internet and the number of languages that come up is stultifying. French, Greek, Taiwanese, Japanese, Russian, German, Portuguese, .be, .no, .it, .ee [.ee?] ["Do you want to install Polish?"]. So we've made it a little easier playing Rob's delightful -- and vastly overlooked -- Satyred Love tonight. Easy and the magnanimous Kavalier mix it up. You'll love it.

As BabelFish tells me [from the portuguese]: "Pop goes off for a sequência of moments of pure devaneio, where the classic clipping songs gain a stranger and surprising reason of being. Detail not less important: in the end, it knows well to listen to records of these."

:: March 18th, 2003 Rob Satyred Love [Chevauchee / Source]
To be completely honest, we're taking a bit of a chance here. Bought mail-order import for $22.99, we never expected Rob to be worth the money. But hot damn if it is. Source France is responsible for Air, Daft Punk and Simian, and its latest signing, Rob, is an amazing blend of hammond whirl, 80s pop method and late 70s groove. If anyone in America has any sense, they will cobble their money together and get the US rights, 'cause this could be a real breakout. So far, no stateside artist has dipped into these highly-produced sounds like Rob. It's just jaw-dropping. Spinning the cleanest-sounding records they have: Kavalier and Easy. Come down and hear something brand new.
:: 9pm - 10:30pm :: KAVALIER
:: 10:30 :: Rob Satyred Love [Chevauchee / Source]
:: 11:30pm - 1am: :: Easy [Eavesdrop]

:: March 25th, 2003 Soltero Defrocked And Kicking The Habit [Handsome]
People love Solero. And it's starting to show. Not only is the band making fans fast [they recently finished a tour], but it's starting to become an institution, sprouting solo shows, encouraging other bands and having, well, nights like these. We've invited the groop down to spin some favorites and they've graciously complied [their occasional record-shop employment won't hurt]. It's rock music and its coming from your neighbors, so buy them a beer.
:: 9pm - 10:30pm :: Tim and gang
:: 10:30 :: Soltero Defrocked And Kicking The Habit [Handsome]
:: 11:30pm - 1am: :: Gang and Tim
