Local Media, River Gods Regulars, Music Fans and Friends,

There is a kind of gap in the musical record when psychedelia crept into pop music. Sure giants like the Beatles, Floyd, the Byrds, Love. But where exactly did the toyed-up mood of psyche hit the harmonic bent of pop? Turns out, there were hosts of elves in the underbrush. Francine would live there, too. Taking some convention from pop, their harmonies work with a soft play and plenty of gadgetry. Pleasing. (As for the Millennium, Gandalf and the United States of America, we'll let you Kaazaa for them first). Big up to Q Division for getting this music attention [and some gear, recording space, staff, tour support, etc.]. OK, our DJs had something to do with it, too. "Lay out in February" tonight at

eavesdrop.

:: February, 25th, 2003 Francine 28 Plastic Blue Versions of Ending Without You [Q Division]
Already climbing the college charts, Francine has begun its national conquest. The music is pop sanctuary, lamenting but bright, surrounded by lush production. It comes from a collaborative effort from its four [now five] members, a dedicated producer and a keen engineer. Add the appropriately languid packaging and an organized record label, and things just start to happen. Clayton Scoble DJs before, while producer John Dragonetti packs his bag with music. Don't miss their debut at the appropriate ICA Theatre March 7th.
:: 9pm - 10:30pm :: Clayton Scoble [Francine
:: 10:30 :: Francine 28 Plastic Blue Versions of Ending Without You [Q Division]
:: 11:30pm - 1am: :: John Dragonetti [Jack Drag]

:: March 4th, 2003 W.I.T. Whatever It Takes [Mogul Electro]
There is a lot more to W.I.T. than meets the eye. Or not. Maybe. A common thought from journalists when trying to dissect W.I.T. And that is just where Christine, Melissa and Mandy want you to start. The electroclash moniker really only applies to its eponymous label Electroclash, and that's where Larry T wants you to start. These immovable forces collide with Dali [kicking beats], Sandra Barrett [international style] and SLC MHz [line judge] as your officiating crew. Hey Mike Tyson has tatoos of Mao and Arthur Ashe, so what can you do?
:: 9pm - 10:30pm :: Dali Colorado [Bitches Brew, Venus Factor
:: 10:30 :: W.I.T. Whatever It Takes [Mogul Electro]
:: 11:30pm - 1am: :: Sandra Barrett [WZBC]

:: March 18th, 2003 TBA

:: Music Site of the Week :: I Love Music Populated by heads, music journalists, record shop gurus and general maniacs, it may first seem the inmates have taken over the proverbial asylum. But, representing the best of the Internet, this message board is a kind of communal oracle. Be careful what you ask of it.

:: After trying to concentrate on this email, we thought we'd propose a solution. Its time to increase the dialogue regarding current affairs. The very small interests of the media are squeezing you out, whether you know it or not. "Use the Internet. It's awesome." This one-time announcement has been brought to you by our collective unconscious.
